AgTC shippers, at seaports and inland rail ramps, are dealing with blanked sailings (and schedule changes), often without timely notice. Ships are running less than 56% on schedule. Following our AgTC-USDA Ag Shipper Workshops in Portland and Boise, we are establishing a “Ship Blanking Monitor”. Already getting good participation by ports authorities, contributing their data; we’ll add terminals, carriers, others.
Objective: help exporters avoid trauma and expense that come with failing to give timely notice of blanking or other schedule disruption.
We’ll discuss further on this week’s AgTC Weekly Zoom.
